BM dresses are in... and wrong length

So my bridesmaid dresses came in today and when one of my girls went to go pick it up she realized that they ordered the long dresses instead of the short.  So we have dresses that are floor length instead of knee length.  They are Alfred Angelo style 7017.  If we cut them to knee length are they going to look funny?  They look flowy so it seems like it wouldn't matter, but does anyone have experience with this?  I am going to call the company tomorrow, but not sure how accurate the answer I will get.

Thanks!

  • I would ask to see the order form/paperwork. If the designer screwed up, then I would think they could just send them back and it would be a fairly easy fix. If the bridal shop screwed up, they should either be able to switch the dresses for you or offer free or very cheap alterations.
  • Ditto PP--figure out the source of the error.  Unless it was your fault, you should not have to pay to make these alterations.
  • Three of my BM dresses came in with mistakes, when we traced it back to the source, it was the company we ordered from, so the alterations were all free. The dress shop paid for them even tho it was the dress company's fault. You should not pay anything until you know for sure it was your fault. I've heard AA will try to deny any fault, so definitely ask to see the original order paperwork and look at your receipts you got when you placed it.
