veil- do places rent them?

I dunno what's wrong with me, but I put off getting a veil and now I am a month away from the wedding date, and I just want a butt length gold veil, and I think I need to know what I need before I go into the hair consultation.

But where do I find a inexpensive veil that doesnt have to be special ordered? If I buy one online, will the color not match my dress?  I saw a Bridezillas episode where the girl ripped up her online bought veil because she was so angry the color didn't match at all. I don't want to be in that situation. And I think I want a veil. I have no idea how I am doing my hair.

Re: veil- do places rent them?

  • Are you in a big city?  A lot of large cities have a downtown shopping district (usually really cheap stuff).  You may be able to find one there.

  • It's so hard to find gold veils on ebay, I went through pages and saw tons of tiaras.

so the bridal shop I order my flowers and seat covers have veils for rent/sale. and I am going to check it out, maybe today after work. This would be the easiest option. Wish me luck!

I think I will be back her tomorrow to let you girls know about veil rentals, haha.

  • I am in Silicon Valley in CA, so I am hoping that locally I can find something. I refuse to drive to S.F. to get one though, and I bet they would charge a buttload if I did.

Did you buy your without special ordering? I got the impression before at the place I order my dress that veils are by order only, at least there. I am worried that any place that has veils in stock only have light ivory and white.

  • yeah, I see ivory and white with gold beading, and that is not going to work. I have to have at least a darker ivory or a light gold. I just cant have a mismatching veil. I think I have to actually see the veil in person, and that's why i am worried right now. That Bridezillas episode haunts me!

OT: The bridesmaid dresses don't look as awesome (as I hoped) with the necklaces I bought the girls, but I don't care, they are going to wear them anyway. They cost hecka money for 6 girls. I just hope that all my choices to buy everything separately from eachother with no "color swatches" is going to bite me in the butt. I was warned, but I didn't listen! There is going to be like 15 different shades of gold and orange on my wedding day.

  • oh jeez, the style is slightly off, but they are both beautiful, you don't have to pick on me. It's not like the girls hate them, I just noticed they didn't work as best as I hoped. And in pictures they look great, and the girls have even been showing off their necklaces/dresses to their friends and so I know they like them, and will be happy to wear them. If they didn't want to wear them, and they said so, I would let them go without them, but that's not the situation. I just think I could have been more careful when choosing everything, and I wanted to post that as a cautionary tale about not getting everything "perfect".

Give me a break. Thanks for advice about ebay but I'm done here. I'm too stressed to worry about what you think when I have wonderful bridesmaids that don't care if I make a joke about them having to wear the things they like anyways. It's really not a big deal to anyone, and they are the only ones who's opinion matters on that situation.

Thanks for your input though, I seriously appreciated your previous advice, and I hope your day is as perfect as it can be. And good for you for finding an inexpensive veil, that's a bargain price indeed. I hope that anyone else that sees this post gets to take your advice and is better off for it. Thank you for sharing your success with us. And good for you for buying it early, a very wise choice!

and Thanks for everybody else's posts. I feel confident that I can take care of this and everything will work out for the best. This close to the wedding is really putting me in a stressed mood, and I am excited for the wedding planning to end. I hope all your wedding planning well.
