What does the bride wear to a reception only event?

A friend of mine just got married. They had a very small family only ceremony and have now decided to do a formal reception in the spring. Both of us are unsure what color she is supposed to wear. Does she wear a white dress or the same color as the reception theme?

I'm wearing a short white dress to my AHR.  She doesn't technically have to wear a white dress to the wedding, so she can wear whatever she likes to the reception.

I think a white dress would be nice, but it is really up to her.  I think the white dress is more bridal and helps to identify the bride a little better. But, honestly, I think whatever she decides would be fine!
