Disney Brides

Going dress shopping again this weekend and would love seeing pictures of real Disney brides. Unfortunately I am short, so when I try the gowns on, they are soooo long which throws off the proportions. Checking on-line helps but I can only find pictures of the original models who are way too thin and I'd rather see where the dress details hit on real women.

Re: Disney Brides

  • Try searching the used dress sites. A lot of girls post pictures of themselves in the dresses for their ad pictures.

Are you talking about the AA ones? Which ones do you want to see because I tried on most of the 2011 collection except Ariel and Jasmine. I am under 5 feet tall and wore Sleeping Beauty.

  • Sorry, forgot to mention the specifics.

Yes AA and Sleeping Beauty is one of those I like.  The others that I tried on are the two Tianas (2011 and 2012) and Cinderella.  Unfortunately the samples begin to pouf out at about my ankles so I really can't get a clear picture of what it looks like if it actually fit.  Tried to hike em up but then I lose the whole middle area.

Thank you for the idea to look in the used dress sites

  • Tiana - I thought the bottom looked like a quilt. And I hated the taffeta.

Cinderella- It looked like a prom dress. Actually they make a prom dress almost identical for 1/4 of the price.

Sleeping Beaauty- The one I choose
    Here is a sample pic

    Here is a professional pic.

    Feel free to ask questions.

I think if you are super petite that Sleeping Beauty (the pink one??) would be beautiful- a-line is a pretty good bet for us shorties :-)  I purchased Cinderella 205, I knew I wanted a ball gown.  I would avoid the drop-waist gowns since that could make your legs look shorter, and my consultant wouldn't even let me try on the poofy Tiana dress- she said it would be way too much dress.  Did you look at the first Snow White dress?  I think that one would work really well, too.

I don't have pictures of me in SB or Cindy here at work, sorry!

Hoboken- you look beautiful in that Sleeping Beauty gown :-)

  • I don't know if oyu watch Four Brides, but there was a girl on there that wore a disney dress. IT was the episode from Chicago with a girl who had a school bus, I believe. Try looking it up on that website on TLC
