Has anyone sewn additional appliques or sash on to their dress?

Just curious how it turned out - I'm debating just sewing a crystal trim into my dress which is about a fraction of the price of an etsy one.

I'm a Sophia Tolli bride and I bought extra appliques to go on the bottom of the front of my skirt (to match the ones on the train).  I pick up my dress on Saturday, so I can let you know for sure then, but when she had them pinned on the dress I really liked it.  The extra appliques were $200 but there was enough to do the front of my dress an have put on my veil.
