Too many dresses to pick from!

HELP! I have a few wedding dresses I am looking at and I cant decide which one to pick! Any suggestions how to eliminate some?

Re: Too many dresses to pick from!

  • Go to try some on. See what styles and cuts look better on your body and go from there. You may find you love the look of ball gowns but on they make you look like a cupcake. That has helped me narrow down my online searches.

  • Have you tried all of them on? If not, you'll know which cuts look most flattering.

If you have tried them on and are still indecisive, ask yourself in what dress you can picture yourself walking down the aisle.  Which one makes you feel the most beautiful? If it's narrowed down and you've tried them on again, sleep on it....I did that and then knew ;)

It's easy to feel overwhelmed - there are so many great gowns out there!

I agree with pp's - if you haven't tried any on yet, go do that before you worry any more.  Also, the time of year, venue and overall style of your wedding might help you eliminate some styles (a super-formal gown with cathedral train might not be a good fit for a casual garden wedding, a low-cut, sexy sheath probably isn't a good choice for a ceremony held in a house of worship, etc).

Take your time, don't settle, and don't feel pressured.  Above all, have fun!

I was in that position too - I probably fell in love with like 7 dresses when I was shopping.  I went back to a few places to retry my favorites with a clear mind.  There was one front runner after a few times of retrying.  Go with your gut and what makes you feel beautiful - instead of going for just a dress that is pretty.
  • Thank you so much everyone! All of your advice definitely helped! I have narrowed it down to two and I have one more appointment to try them both on so hopefully I will be able to pick just one. Thanks again!
