Shall I buy a second wedding dress

My original wedding was scheduled for December 2012.  I already got a dress for my causal restaurant wedding party. The dress that I've got is absolutely beautiful and is wrinkle free made of good quality satin with a natural glossy shine surface. I find another dress online that I really loved.  I can buy the new dress about $240, excluding delivery.  I plan to buy it but I don’t want to waste money.  Do you think I shall get this second dress for my party.   Am I lavish?  I can't decide!!!

Do want to wear both dresses or just one?  If just the new one, is selling the old one an option?  The other question is whether $240 is reasonable based on your budget.  It's more than I would spend on a dress normally, much less than I spent on my gown, but also something I wouldn't think twice at if I could resell the first dress.  But that depends on how you're doing financially, what your budget is like, etc.  I certainly don't think it's inherantly unreasonable.
  • If the dress is $240, make sure it's coming from a reputable place. Could be a department store or online authorized retailer. If it's from a knock off place, then you likely will be wasting money.

  • If you do not like your first dress, then go ahead and buy a new one you do like. I'd say wearing a second dress when you already like your first is a waste of money. In all honesty, I have no idea when I would've wanted to into a second dress (if I had one) because I was enjoying my reception too much!
  • Where are you buying this new dress from? Do they offer "custom measurement sizes?" If so, it's a knock off site that is (probably) in China and all I can say is DON'T DO IT! Run away, seriously. Scroll through the board and you'll find lots of posts from girls who have bought dresses on knock-off sites that come crying to us b/c it's horrible.

  • I say go for it!!  But then again, I have 3...  so I may not be a good person to ask.
