Shoes

Just out of curiousity...where did everyone buy their shoes?  About how much did you spend?

I don't want to spend a fortune but I'd love to find lace heels (my dress is lace).  Any ideas as to where to look?  I figured the run of the mill shoe stores wouldn't have anything.

thanks!

Re: Shoes

  • I bought mine on ideeli.  6pm.com has a lot of nice and reasonably-priced shoe options.

  • I have a lace dress and also wanted lace shoes, but I found that most of them clashed with my dress (different laces), so I just ended up getting some plain white silk ones. Just a heads up, because I went through a lot of frustration at first.
  • thank you, cwaggoner!  I've been searching the web for awhile now.  I'm not too concerned with the lace patterns matching (maybe I should be, haha!) but overall I am having no luck.  I found a cute pair on zappos, but they are only available in ivory and my dress is white.  a basic satin shoe would be easier and cheaper.

This was my first thought as well.

I got mine at dyableshoes.com, I think they were about $65 plus my dye/spray.

  • I wanted lace shoes to go with my lace dress, too.  The only ones I liked were a pair of Stewart Weitzmans that were so out of budget ($375!!! - clicky).  I ended up with a pair of green satin peeptoe slingbacks (to match my emerald e-ring) from endless.com that were about $70.

Zappos, $195, Badgley Mischka "Gerdie". They are gorgeous. I have some Franco Sartos from DSW, I think $50 after I used a coupon, to change into. Same heel height but platform wedges for comfort. Neither pair screams "bride" and I plan to wear them after the wedding. I've already been breaking them in, too.
  • Nordstrom on sale for $60!

  • Mine were around $100. Purchased them about $20 cheaper on amazon than the manufacturer was charging.

  • Shoes To Dye For for $50. (I plan to buy shoe clips, so that's an added cost.)

I got mine from zappos for ~$50.  They are puple satin peep toe pumps with an ankle strap for support.  I love zappos and highly recommend them.

  • First pair I got were Vivienne Westwood's off Zappos, they were about $190. I'm still thinking about getting another pair that might be more comfortable and maybe look better with my dress, but I'll wear the Westwoods for another wedding thing. I'm looking at Rachel Simpson shoes. I also have a pair of Kate Spades that I'm dying over. I'll be the first to admit that I am a shoe enabler and I also know I'll wear these shoes again so I want to make sure they hold up. As well as the fact that I refuse to change shoes, so they need to be comfortable for the whole day.

  • Macy's for $20, really cute flats.
It doesn't have to be perfect to be everything I want!

  • I bought some basic flats from dessy.com for $20 and will add shoe clips. I can't find any shoe clips I like so I'm making them materials cost around $15

  • I had custom shoes made from a shop I found on Etsy.  She also has a web site - http://customweddingshoe.com/

    LOVE them.

  • I had a lace dress as well and went with a plain satin shoe.  I tried on a few lace ones at the bridal store when I was buying it and it clashed way too much, I wanted to showcase the lace on the dress, so a simple shoe complimented it rather than detracted from it.

I bought mine on Amazon (Dyeables brand, even though I didn't get them dyed) for $35.
