Where did you register?

Hey ladies!

FI and I are trying to think of places we might like to register.  Do you have any ideas? Also, how soon before the wedding should we start our wedding registry?  Thanks ladies!

I can't wait to hear other ladies' answers, because I have no idea where we'll register, either! :)

my best advice is do not register at Kohl's.  Their inventory turns over too quickly, and the majority of the stuff DH and I picked out was sold out well before our wedding.
Sears was also a pain, no one there knew how to get us set up and registered...
If I could do it again, I'd register at BB&B.
Timing...  it would depend on when your shower would be...  you'll want to be fully registered before invitations would go out for a shower, since that's the only acceptable way to let your guests know where you're registered - according to etiquette.

We registered at Bed bath and beyond which is where it seems most are shopping.  We also registered at Crate and Barrell but I have had to go in and change the registry quite a few times because inventory changed.  I hear a lot of good things about Macys too.  Macys and BB&B have coupons so it is more budget friendly for your guests.

We registered at Bed Bath and Beyond and Macys, and had wonderful experiences with both. We registered for our china, bed linens, and drinkware and stemware at Macys, and registered for our everyday household items at BB&B. There were lots of coupons available for our guests and no one had any complaints. They were also both wonderful with handling returns and exchanges.

In terms of timing, you can register whenever you feel ready to decide on what you both need. We registered about 8-12 months before our wedding.

*butting back in* Did anyone have experience (good or bad) with Target? I've heard mixed registry reviews there...

We registered in April I think. At Bed Bath and Beyond and Macy's.

We registered about 4 months before our wedding at Bed Bath and Beyond.  They were very helpful!  We also registered on myregistry.com.  No one used that registry. They gave cash instead. I am not sure if my BM listed myregistry.com as an option or not for shower guests.

Bed Bath and Beyond and Macys.  I LOVE BB&B! They allowed us to return & exchange without a problem.  They've even allowed us to return a knife set this year (almost 2 years after our wedding) because it's breaking and total crap.  They told us they stand by all of their products and were happy to help us pick a new set and educated us on quality of their sets.
