Can you wear white shoes with an ivory dress?

Do you need ivory shoes with an ivory dress?  I'm having trouble finding dyeable ivory shoes that I like.  I can find them in white, but I don't know if they will match.  I'll be wearing a floor-lenth gown that ends just half an inch above the floor.

I think it's absolutely fine to be honest. Most of the time I have trouble telling white and ivory apart, it all looks the same to me. And if the gown is floor-length you won't see them very much anyway.

A lot of brides wear shoes that are same color as their bridesmaid dresses, so that's an option too.  If you love the shoes, I don't think it matters.

Silk is naturally less white and is usually the material they refuse to dye, so if that is the case they shouldn't be far off.

I have been looking for ivory shoes as well and have found a few white that I love.  I figure for the most part no one will see my shoes, so if the color is off I think I will be the only one to notice.  i woulnd't worry about it, if you love them get them.

I had a hard time finding ivory shoes! I have ivory dress and found lots of beautiful white shoes. I'm too picky, even though people wouldn't be able to see my shoes, I gave in with the trend of dying my shoes to match bridesmaids' dresses and I'm so excited!!

If you're not picky and you don't think this would bother you down the road, then you should be fine!

Or you should consider having your dress shop dye your shoes to match your bridesmaids dress! 

Either way, I don't think lot of people care about the bride's shoes...it's the dress that matters!

Why don't you just buy the dyeable white shoes and have them dyed ivory to match your dress?  Or like PP suggested have them dyed the color fo your BM dresses?

Yes, but a color would be more fun.  You could even go with a metallic or Converse All Stars.

TommyAndy, my friend, her husband and every member of the wedding party wore bright blue converse sneakers, Their colors were that same bright shade of blue and black, it looked so great!!
I got my ivory shoes on Zappos.com, they are so comfortable, I LOVE them

Another new trend I've seen in weddings I've attended is making the shoes a shade of blue, as your something blue- maybe something to consider?

I also agree with PP about going with white if you love it. I think going with the color of your bridesmaid's gowns or a metallic color (silver or gold) would be awesome & fun too! Also love the shoes everyone showed here...great choices ladies, love 'em!

Lots of good advice.  I feel that white however is NOT an option for Ivory gown.

don't wear white with ivory.... i actually purchased a pair of white shoes and then tried them on with the dress and i thought it was a disaster.... go for another color altogether. I got pink shoes
