Crinoline Under Sheath Dress?

Just wanted to see if any brides out there have worn a crinoline, most likely mermaid/trumpet style, under their sheath silhouette dress?

I am debating doing this, but hate to buy one and then not be able to return it.

Email me with your experience or post some pictures if you have them!

Thanks,

Re: Crinoline Under Sheath Dress?

  •  I used to work in a bridal salon. Most mermaid dresses have crinoline in that bottom portion that is enough. But if not, you seamstress can add just the right amount stitched in that area without adding bulk around your waist etc. Hope it helps.
  • The seamstress recomended a half piece of crinoline just to help the shape at the bottom.  I am wearing a mermaid style dress and it wants to keep caving in at the bottom.  It will not make it extra poofy, just a shape.

I'm going to be wearing this dress: http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/dresses/15160/Pronovias-Manuel-Mota-Silencio-Size-2.html which is considered either a sheath or a mermaid style, I've seen it referenced both ways. I'm not planning on wearing a crinoline at all, just regular comfortable undies! I guess it depends on your dress though. I think if you want a very flared bottom to your dress you could get a mermaid crinoline but if you just want it to look more "flowy" not to bother.

  • Thanks all.  I have my second fitting in two weeks so I will see what they say.  As lblumetti said, I want it have some shape at the bottom and not just fall against my legs all night.
