A few years ago, I was driving through a local town and passed a dress shop window. They had a poster of Brier Rose in the window, so I went home and looked it up. It was my "dream" dress, mainly because I dream about wearing turn of the century clothing everyday. But I wasn't yet dating, but soon I was, and now we're engaged. I tried Brier Rose on in January, but because we're waiting till 2013, I didn't plan on buying a dress yet. I found out from the local store that Kitty Chen discontinued Brier Rose and has one left in stock, a size 10. I'm a size 4 on top and a size 6 on the bottom. The designer is holding the dress for me through Friday, so now I have 2 days to make a decision. The store went so far as to contact their seamstress to make sure she was certain she could alter the dress. Because of its cost I wanted to take more time with this decision. Though it's my dream dress, I'm worried about the alterations and the cost. It is the absolute maximum I would pay for a dress, and that's only because I've been staring at it longingly for years.
Here's a picture of the dress:

Any advice?
