The guys and my picky groom

Ok so I am getting married to a graphic/web designer.  He is the not-so-typical groom and has an opinion and lets me very well aware of his opinions.  My dilemma is I have found to me the hottest outfits for the grooms to wear and its nontraditional and fits so well with the modern laid back outdoor wedding we are going to have in JUNE of 2011.  He thinks the groom needs to be different from all the guys. My problem is HOW?

I want all the guys including FI to wear kaki, brown shoes, a navy blue blazer, and an open collar shirt.  (Ties are a little too stuffy for me.)

Any suggestions on how I can make him feel different than the groomsmen...but yet have all the above details?

Is it better to rent or to buy...I want all the blue & the kakis to be the same shade.

Regarding the above questions...any suggestions of stores or online? We have 7 GM and 6/7 are out of town/state.

The above pic was used as a display at a bridal show.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: The guys and my picky groom

  • If I'm following ... your FI agrees with all these ideas, but he just wants to stand apart from the groomsmen but he doesn't know how? Correct? Did he approve all of your choices, or are you the one deciding on the guys' attire alone?

Maybe your FI could be the only one wearing a tie, and/or the only one wearing a boutonniere?

  • You could have him wear a different color shirt (still in your wedding colors).  That way it's still uniform but he looks a little different.  I'm having the same problem with my FH...  Who knew there were guys that actually wanted  to be involved in the wedding planning lol.  Good luck!
