How much do wedding officiants cost?

We're still finalizing our budget and were wondering how much does a typical JOP cost in this area? If you have any recommendations for one, please let me know. I'm not even sure if we can go with a JOP since we're getting parental pressure to have a Rabbi, but I at least want a price point to start from. On the off chance someone has a connection with a Rabbi in the Manchester area, let me know :)  Thanks!

We've spoken with 3 JP's in Nashua over the past few weeks and their prices range from $250-$350 which includes the rehearsal and the ceremony.

Also, we had no idea what we wanted for a ceremony and all 3 seemed very willing to work with us to take pieces from religious and non-secular ceremonies to create exactly what we would like.

yeah, ours is costing about 350, but it includes a lot of assistance in customizing our ceremony, plus rehearsal time and a consultation. but we've also find some that go as low as 100 dollars for just a basic service with nothing else included. we were going to go with the cheaper one because the whole rehearsal thing didn't really matter to us, but we ended up liking this guy better.

In NH anyone can get a 1 day pass to marry people.  So, if you have a family member or friend who is a great public speaker, you may consider this.  My BIL performed our ceremony and was able to incorporate many Jewish customs (DH's family is Jewish).

A good family friend of mine became a JP for his daughters wedding, he is doing mine too.  I would say that you should look into that also, I know it's a lot to ask someone but in the long run they can benefit by performing other weddings too.  Is there anyone from DH's community that might be able to help out?

Interestingly enough, our JP is a Jewish gentleman who has incorporated many Jewish customs into the ceremonies he does.  He writes each ceremony himself and has been fabulous to work with thus far.  He's going for $325 which we find to be a steal given how much time he is willing to spend working together with us on a truly personal ceremony.  Let me know if you would like his contact info!
