Alterations?

My dress has come it a whopping 2 months early, thank goodness because I was worried about alterations since it was supposed to be here a month before the wedding.
 
So the bridal shop calls and tells me I need to come in for alterations right away because they close down for 2 weeks in December. I didn't think anything of it until people started asking me why I was doing my first fitting so soon (wedding is March 5th)

Is this too early for a first fitting? I am scheduled to go later today.

As long as you don't plan on losing any weight (like I know I did) between now and the wedding, you should be okay. A lot of places don't want you to come early because they know a lot of brides hit the gym hard before the wedding and it can completely change how the dress fits, so they like to wait til the last minute to ensure that it fits properly.

I would see if you can make an appointment for right before they close for the holidays.  My bridal salon recommends coming in two months before the wedding for the first fitting, so you would only be a couple weeks off of that.  I'd rather have the first fitting done before the holidays anyway   All those Christmas cookies.
