Crinoline help

Hey ladies, I'm having some trouble trying to figure this out. My dress is sort of a strange shape--I don't know what to call it! It's sort of a mermaid, but it doesn't flare out low enough, I think (just below the hips). Here is a picture:

I want it to have that pretty, full shape, so I'm thinking I probably need a crinoline? But I don't know where to get one like that--all the ones I've seen either start flaring right at the waist, or they are mermaid and flare below the knee. Does anyone have advice on what I"m looking for? (Or what to even call this shape? :P)

Re: Crinoline help

  • My dress is similar (Maggie Sottero Jovi), and I'm using a mermaid/trumpet style crinoline. Can you try your dress on at the store you bought it from with a regular crinoline and a mermaid crinoline to see the difference? This is what I did. The mermaid style won over big time! It makes such a difference in my dress...

I don't know what size you are, but I have one for sale, size small, brand new (I bought it from another bride but its too small). Let me know if you're interested! I have pics in my bio under "For Sale".

  • Oh, very pretty! Thanks for the tip. I guess I'll  ask them if I can try on different styles next time I'm there. I would love to buy yours, but unfortunately I am 6 feet tall and in no way considered "small" ;) I think I fell in love with this dress partially because it's the first one that was long enough!
