candy bar

I am starting to think I want a candy buffet but my FI says it is not worth it.  He makes some good points.  We would have to have someone set it up I think because the hall doesn't do it (I think) and anyone we would trust to do it will be at the wedding.  This is what happens when I got all the planning done early.  Now I am constantly wanting to add things.

I know some girls have called upon other knotties to help them set up the candy buffet the morning of the wedding - so that's an idea for you! I'm close by (in Salem) and if you need someone to set up the buffet for you that day, I would be more than happy to help you!

We just asked our venue and they were more than happy to set up our candy buffet for us. They may have a coordinator on site that would be able to take care of it for you. Just ask them and see what they say. It's your day and anything you want is possible :)

Thanks.  Now I have to convince the FI.  Our reception is in Windham.  I may call upon knottie help.

I did RTB's candy buffet and she did mine. People LOVED it. Everyone likes edible favors and people were hitting it up like crazy. It is not "inexpensive" but not over the top either. Totally worth the $ and time. I wanted my buffet to be "pretty" and had some extra time so I put ribbon around the vases. RTB and Feef set it up and then there was an extra bin of candy under the table to fill it up when needed.

I'll be setting up dls.1215's candy buffet on Saturday, I'll make sure to take pictures and post them. She has all types of different containers with ribbons tied to them. It's going ot look really nice.

I am also doing a Candy Buffet.  Our site also offered to set it up for us.  I have not told too many people about the detail of my wedding but when I mentioned the Candy Buffet they became SUPER excited! If you can swing it, I say go for it.

I would also be happy to help if you needed it :o)

I went back and forth about whether to do a Candy Buffet, it cost alot more money than I was expecting but turned out amazing! Apparently there was a consistent line for it during our cocktail hour and it had to be re-filled with candy 9 times, it was all gone by the end of the night! We had 3 Day of Coordinators (my Mom's co-workers who had volunteered), 2 took care of the reception location and 1 was with us at the ceremony location. We didn't pay them, but they came to the reception/ate after.

Honestly, our guests loved this and I have heard more raves about the CB than anything else. I even had a family member of a guest e-mail my Mom two days after the wedding and bought all of our CB jars/scoops!

    Here is a Pic:

What is the candy bar?  It sounds fun, do you use these at night receptions?

Basically, you have a candy buffet set up with different candies in large glass vases and dishes.  This is sort of a favor.  You supply the goodie bags or boxes and people are able to go up and choose what they want.  Below are some pictures I got on project wedding's site.
