Show me your band

Cryssteen

I have a round solitaire with a single shaft tapered band.   Very classic and simple.  I just don't know what to do about a band.  There are literally endless possibilities.  I am starting with a basic clean slate, and can go either super traditional with a plain white gold band, or go crazy with a big diamond-covered thick band.  I am confused.  If you have pics, please share.  Here's my ring. Thanks for your help!  (pardon my DIY mani... I colored out of the lines)

My engagement ring is very similar to yours, and I got this band:

Especially because of the side detail, they don't 'match' but I love the mismatched vintage look of the two together.
Your best bet may just be to go see a jeweler and try different options and see what you like.

This is the band I went with:

I tried a plain gold band, but from a distance, it made my engagement ring look like it had a thicker band, which gave the illusion of a smaller diamond.

I'm hoping the platinum milgrain edge will break it up a bit.

Beautiful, ladies!   I did go to the jewler who made my ring.  I tried on dozens of rings, but I just can't make up my mind.    Good point about the illusion of bigger band:smaller diamond!
