What should I wear on my winery bachelorette weekend?

My bachelorette weekend will include a full day of winery tours in the Finger Lake region of New York.  I'm probably over thinking this.. but what should I wear? Jeans/nice shirt? Dress with comfy shoes? If you've been, what did you wear?

  • My H and I are HUGE winery people. We've probably been to about a hundred just here in Washington state. We have worn anything from jean and a t to him in slacks and me in a dress.
It really just depends on that particular area.. A sun dress and comfy shoes are always a nice way to go, especially since you know there will be a ton of pictures being taken since it's a bach party... And if you end up going out to dinner afterward you wouldn't have to worry about being underdressed...
But if you really want to know, go to a couple of the wineries' websites and view their photo galleries.. Some usually post pictures of tours/events that will show what the people visiting are wearing. Or you can go a local board and ask people in the area (remember that this is an international board)
  • I live in the Finger Lakes region! It's amazingly spectacular. I can tell you most people wear jeans and comfy shoes to go wine tours around here. A lot of the wineries are older buildings and have uneven cement or wooden floors. I've worn high heels on a wine tour before and once you start getting tipsy the uneven floors don't help your cause. I'd say dress comfortable. It takes all day to go around to the wineries and even then It's impossible to hit them all. Do you know which lake tour you're doing?

  • Great suggestions! Thanks! CNF, we are touring the Seneca wineries.

  • Seneca is the best! I might be biased because I live on Seneca Lake, but they have the most wineries out of all the lake trails. You'll have a great time, those places are used to big bachelorette groups rolling through and they accomodate well. Have fun! It's a great time.
