What color vest/tie for groomsmen?

I need help!  I had planned for the groomsmen to wear black tuxes with navy vests and ties.  However, the lady at the bridal shop has suggested that I go with black vests and ties because she says the navy won't look right.  I need opinions.

Background:  I am wearing a BRIGHT white dress and my bridesmaid's are wearing navy taffeta ballgowns (Mori Lee Style #230).  My fiance will be wearing a black tux with a white vest and tie.

I had to compromise after my groom "nay"ed the purple vest/tie idea. He's wearing white vest and tie. The bridesmaids are wearing purple dresses with silver shoes. Because of that, the groomsmen are wearing silver vest/tie.

Just beacuse the bridesmaids are wearing navy doesn't mean the groomsmen should wear navy. On the plus side, if your father is going to wear what the groomsmen are wearing, your mother wouldnt have to worry about coordinating with navy color.
