Shoe help!!

I am wearing heels for the ceremony that I LOVE. But, I know i wont be able to wear them all day, so I want to find some pretty jeweled sandals for the reception, problem though, where do I have my dress hemmed?? Also, I cannot for the life of me find reception sandals that have a small wedge and are white or silver jeweled sandals. Help?? Any suggestions?? I stalk DSW online and cant seem to find anything yet. Thanks in advance!

How high are the heels? And how dirty is the floor/ground where you're wearing your dress?

I would suggest hemming the dress such that it hits the ground when you have the sandals on (or the lower of the two pairs of shoes). If you're wearing low wedges and the dress has been hemmed for the high heels, you might step (or trip!) on the dress. Or someone else could step or trip on it, etc. Also, you should opt for the higher hem unless you are okay with the bottom of your dress getting very dirty over the course of the day.

Ideally, you could find some comfortable platform wedges that lift you off the ground about the same amount as the heels do.

I think your best option is changing for something that's the same height as your heels after the ceremony, so the dress doesn't have to be altered.

they're not the most glamorous thing, but nobody will notice them when I'm on the dance floor, and it's either that or my Converse, and then my dress would be too long!

Good question -- I plan on doing the same thing and had no idea what to do about hemming the dress!

Davids bridal has some really pretty wedge sandals with rhinestones across the straps! Those are the shoes I have because I'm a klutz and our wedding and reception are (weather permitting) all outdoors. The wedge is about 2-1/2 to 3 in. and they are CRAZY comfy to walk around in! Also, they have them in ivory and white! Hope it helps!

Not all of DSW's in store stock is online.  I've seen silver wedges in there recently.  Payless also tends to carry some.  Victoria's Secret usually has white wedge flip flps but might have sandals as well.
