Invitations

Any ideas on where I can get some beautiful invitations, that aren't overly expensive?

We're printing our own at home.  We bought a kit that we fell in love with at AC Moore and you can run them right through your own printer.  We figure we ended up saving in the end.

Try Magnetstreet.com. There are nice invitations there and reasonable depending on what you want. Good Luck!

several of us `09 girls used alaunbydesign.com
they have a bunch of styles, prices, and colors.
They are willing to tweak sizes from what's pictured online, and their prices are very reasonable!

I did my own with paper from cardsandpockets.com  They were fairly easy to print at home and overall cheaper than ordering.  I think there are pics in my planning bio.

I got mine from David's Bridal, except with ivory ribbon. I love them!

I signed up for their emails and ended up getting a really good discount :)

I found a kit  by Bride Magazine at Michael's that matched my theme exactly. There are TONS to choose from and for a fraction of what you'd spend through a printer. Granted, sometimes you have to weigh whether the amount saved is greater than the headache you'll likely have to endure. In this case, yes. LOL

Me too!  I used the 40% coupons and only paid about $20 for a box of 40.  I had a friend who does graphic design for a living design them for me though.  So I have to say it wasn't as painful for me. Though I am sure he will be as thrilled (if not more) as I will be when they are in the mail!

We haven't decided on Wedding invites yet, but we used Vistaprint.com for the engagement party invitations and Save-the-Date magnets.  There price was pretty reasonable.  I also got a 25% off coupon for future orders, so if we decide to order the invites through them, we'll use that.  They have a variety of wedding invitations, escort cards, etc.  I'd be too nervous that I would mess these up if we tried to print them ourselves...not that talented to DIY.

I also made my own (pic in bio).  I bought the bozes of the white invitations and then added the flowers myself.  I thought they came out pretty nice.  I have an extra box of 50 invites with response cards that I'm looking to get rid of, if you're interested.

I know girls on here have used vista print and if you sign up for the emails you can get some great deals.  I signed up yet never get coupons.

I have to say try to do nice but cheaper ones.  My mom talked me into going with Invited Design Studio in Hampstead, NH and it was a nightmare.  We ended up spending over $300 and they were difficult to work with.  In the end they came out amazing, but let's not lie when you get an invitation you send back the RSVP and then leave the invite on top of the TV or somewhere that you don't look at it.

I know Michael's Crafts has some great DYI kits, probably more work but if it saves you $$ go for it!  Look for their coupons too.

Finally, my friend I'll have to find out where she got hers did a 3 fold invitation which the postage was a lot less and she had a tear off post card for the RSVP.  We did RSVP post cards too (.28 instead of .44 postage).  Just a thought, GL!
