July 2012 Weddings

random

I just got a wedding invitation in the mail for a friend's wedding in October...it's local (for me...they are both from Florida, so a lot of family will be from OOT).  I thought it was really early, expecially since she sent out STDs.

Re: random

  • That's pretty early...I sent mine out early too but it was because I knew my FI's family was not used to RSVP-ing...but not 4 months early...I sent them in April.

  • That does seem REALLY early.

I'm doubtful, but maybe she'll have an easier time with RSVPs since there's so much time.

I think she might actually have a harder time with it because people think "hey, I have lots of time to figure this out," and then they might just forget because of the amount of time that's passed.

  • 4 months seems crazy early, especially since they sent STDs! My cousin sent his invitation out 3 months before and I thought that was really early. I agree wtih ceglare about guests forgetting to RSVP b/c of the time. I don't think there is any way to get guests to RSVP on time! We just received two responses this week, and our RSVP date was the 1st of June.

  • That's odd! What is the RSVP date??

  • wow - yesterday I got my invite for my friend's wedding in mid-August! It seems crazy to get an invite for an October wedding already
  • I would be worried about people RSVPing Yes now, and then dropping out later, and vice versa.... yikes.  Way too soon.

<div>I know, right?  Especially because it's a Friday wedding (Starts at 4:30).  People normally don't know about any important work things this far out.</div>

  • I did mine 3 months early but only because our wedding is at 5:30 on a Friday and we invited lots of international guests (my parents are immigrants), so I wanted to make sure everyone had plenty of time to arrange time off for travel, etc.

Is their wedding on a non-traditional day, like during the week or on a holiday?
  • I didnt send out Save the dates and i mailed my invites 3 months in advance. It gives people more time to save, make arrangements etc.
