In need of hair and make-up (also posted on the MA board)

I have been having issues with the hair stylist I booked for the wedding so I am looking elsewhere.  I am looking at salons but now I am wondering if anyone has recommendations for someone who comes to us that isn't ridiculously priced?  I ill be getting ready in Andover, MA.  I will need both hair and make-up. Thanks

I am getting my hair & makeup done at the Act One Beauty Lounge in Salem, NH. I haven't had my trial yet, so I can't say much about my experience, but all the stylists are extremely well schooled in updos and makeup application - they have been fantastic to work with so far. I know they do travel for hair/makeup for an additional charge. I found their prices to be reasonable, especially if they will be doing a group of girls.

Did Act One make you put down a deposite? They told me that I had to put down and deposite and all of my bridesmaids had to as well. I really wanted to use them, but I felt bad asking my bridesmaids to do that.

I am using a woman that my friend used. She was able to recreate pictures of updos that the whole wedding party brought to a T!
Her name is Carolina and she is out of Malden, MA. She travels to where ever you are and brings a team with her if needed. I think the prices are definitely reasonable. She offers hair and makeup but can do airbrush makeup, which looks AMAZING and lasts a really long time. Google "special day by carolina". I think that is her exact website.

Thank you so much.  I really hope Carolina is free.

Yes, we had to put down a deposit. All my girls were fine with it, as it would mean that 1/2 their service was already paid for - kind of a nice way to pay for it instead of having to dish out a lot of money on the day of.
