Bridesmaid with Boots Question! PIC INCLUDED

My dress is ivory, long, form-fitting and all lace.I would love my bridesmaids to wear light pink dresses with brown cowboy boots and a brown belt. The part I am having trouble with is what the groomsman and groom should wear...

Opinions?? :)

I love the idea of girls in cowboy boots! Have you thought about grey suits or tuxes? Our theme is rustic chic and we are having the guys in grey.

  • You could also try khaki suits. We are doing cowboys boots as well and all the men will be in khaki.

  • If you are requiring cowboy boots, you need to pay for them.  A good quality pair is expensive and they are often tough to break in.

    Agree!!!

I am wearing boots and I am still working on breaking them in for my June wedding. One of my MOH wants to wear boots also. I see it as an excuse to get a pair of boots. (She has been wanting a pair for a while) A decent pair of boots are at least 100 and can be as much as 600+. Maybe go half in with them or go for an inexpensive dress. Better yet touble check with them on their budgets.

Also, not everyone can fit into a pair of boots. They are not made for wide feet.

This. I would be ok with buying a pair of shoes for a wedding if they are under $50, but not over $100. Especially since with cowboy boots most people can't wear those for too many occasions. I like the idea, but just see what your bridesmaids are comfortable with.

As for the guys, I like the idea of khaki suits. Also check with them about boots before you require them, unless you're going to pay for them.

  • If I was a bridesmaid and didn't have boots, I would not be purchasing them.  And a cheap pair will look cheap.

For a good pair of boots I love the Frye boots in the Carson style.  They are less cowboy because they don't have all the decorative elements on them and can be worn with plenty of outfits without looking like a cowgirl PLUS they are comfy from the get go.

This!  My sister originally wanted the BM & GM to wear cowboy boots for her wedding (I was a BM, H was a GM) and cowboy hats for the GM...I told her absolutely not.  There was no way that we were going to spend almost $400 between the two of us for a pair of shoes we'd never wear again, especially when I already had to spend about $150 for a dress & alterations.

They ended up doing only the B&G in boots and the girls wore silver shoes and the boys wore whatever brown or black dress shoes they had.  Everyone was much happier that way and the shoes really weren't visible in most of their pictures anyways.

My brother got married recently in Mexico and the bridesmaids all had differernt colour dresses (pink, green, and yellow) they wore brown cowboy boots with. The guys all wore white linen shirts and grey pants while the groom had a grey suit. It was quite fitting and they all looked really good.
