Head band

My dress is champagne colored and my Mom found a champagne veil.  However I want to wear it at the back of my head.  So I am looking for a head band to put in front of my hair (which will be in an updo)

Any suggestions?

Re: Head band

  • A cousin is a hairdresser.  She warned me (when we were discussing my hair) that headbands don't always work.  She suggested a nice but chunky necklace.  you could also get a ribbon headband too or make one.

  • I have no idea what your style is, but I'd try searching Etsy.  Type in something like champagne bridal headband, and see what you get.  I saw a variety of pretty headbands come up when I did that a second ago.

  • I did a headband and loved it.  You can see it in my sig pic.  I didn't wear a veil though.  It was on a white ribbon, but it also came on Ivory ribbon if you wanted.  I ordered mine from the same bridal shop that my dress was from.

  • I got a headband at the shop where I bought my dress that I love.  I don't know if I'll end up wearing it though.  It's similar to this one, but daintier:

I wore my mom's headband and attached new tulle at the ends:

It's satin wrapped around a thick headband with pearl crisscrosses around it.  Before picking a headband I'd decide how your hair will be.  Some will get lost in hairstyles.  mine is so thick I needed a big one.

  • I would try on headbands to see if they will sit on your head properly.  I cannot wear any kind, and I have tried them all.  My hair is also thin and fine.

Your best bet is to go to a bridal salon where they will let you try them on - alot of places are funny about people trying on hairpieces before purchasing them.  Fix your hair in some type of updo to make sure it will look the way you want it, because you will not want to be getting ready on your wedding day and hating the band you bought.

  • I ordered a ribbon headband from etsy.com and I'm really happy with it.  Plus, it was only $29 so when I get to the trial, if I hate it, I won't feel so bad about not wearing it.

  • Thanks for all your help ladies.  I just thought that I would wear my hair up and was looking for a band to put in the front of the updo.  I didn't see any at my bridal shop that I liked but I will check a few more stores out.

    Thank you again!

  • You could do soemthing simple like a pearl and Swarovski Crystal headband.

I do some custom ones if you cannot find one.
