Something old & borrowed?

I have my something new (dress, earrings, necklace, shoes) and something blue (a brooch that I'm attaching to my bouquet).  What are some things you are borrowing or are old?

Re: Something old & borrowed?

  • My grandmother is passing down my great-great grandmother's blue hanky as my something old (and blue, though I have lots of blue as it's one of my colors) and I am wearing my mother's cathedral veil for the ceremony as my something borrowed.
  • My mom saved her lace edged wedding handkerchief and I wrapped that, along with my grandmother's, around the ribbon wrapped stems on my bouquet.
  • Something old: a necklace FI gave me for our 1st anniversary
    Something new: my dress =]
Something borrowed: a pair of diamond stud earrings to wear in my 2nd ear piercing
Something blue: our wedding date embroidered on the inside of my dress

  • My something borrowed is my aunt's diamond bracelet and my something old is a 1920s butterfly brooch that I'm attaching to my bouquet.

  • I'm borrowing my sisters veil and attaching a picture  charm to my bouquet
  • Mine was a very old handkerchief that my mom let me borrow. So it covered both bases. Maybe you can borrow something old?

  • My something old is a hanky from my grandpa who passed away years ago, and my something borrowed is a pearl bracelet from my mom.  My shoes will be my something blue, and pretty much everything else is new!  :)

  •  I haven't picked all this out yet.

I just wanted to comment and say to kd.joseph, that photo is adorable!  Is that you and your husband?

  • I borrowed a veil from a friend.

I wore the slip my grandmom wore to her wedding, which was given to her by her godmother and was worn to her wedding as well.  So it was from the 1920s.  As my something old.  My mom and her 4 married sisters also wore the slip on their wedding days.
