BM Dress Help

I'm having only my sister (MOH) and my best friend (BM) as my attendants.  My sister has a great figure so she can wear anything.  My best friend has a medical condition so she is unfortunately struggling with finding a dress that will fit her and not make her feel uncomfortable.  But I think we have narrowed it down to two but I haven't seen them in person yet but both my MOH and BM have tried them on and say they are fine.  They are from David's Bridal - which is also not my favorite choice but I sort of think I'm running out of time to go anywhere else without paying rush fees.  Our wedding is Sept 18th.

I know these aren't the dresses that I had in mind.  I wanted short, more classic and refined.  I do like this color though.  But I think I'm doing the right thing for my friend, I certainly don't want her to be uncomfortable and then that makes me worried.

What do you think of these dresses?

I think the first one has more personality!

  • In cases like this, I always say that you should ask your friend to first go and look and send you some ideas.  That gives her the opportunity to find something that works for her, without being forced to try on something that she maybe doesn't like.  If you hate those choices, then at the least you have a better idea of what she's comfortable with.  If you send an email saying "I love this dress!!! What do you think?"  it's a little harder for her to be completely honest with you, so that's why I'd make it more open-ended.
  • Those dresses are both very pretty and would be flattering on most any figure. I'd let your friend choose which one she's most comfortable in and go with that. If your sis likes the other one better, I don't think it would matter if she went with that. My daughter is also getting married in September and her bridesmaids all chose floor-length styles from the same manufacturer, in the same fabric and color. I think it will look great!

  • The first one is stunning and would likely flatter any figure.  Both would, really, but I'd feel much sassier in the first one, myself!
