Looking for teal bridesmaid dresses

Hi everyone -
Friend of mine just got engaged last week... and has set the date for THIS Memorial Day weekend so we're in a time crunch. We all flew/drove in this weekend and after 7 bridal shops found her dress (and so lucky she got what she wanted on clearance and could walk out of the store with it in hand)... now we're on to us! She wants strapless, short teal dresses... preferred sweet heart neckline. I had cotton bridesmaid dresses for mine which everyone loved so she wishes should could find that... the designer for my dresses (Aria) doesn't have teal in cotton. Anyone have any ideas? This is the front runner so far in chiffon (the color she wants is the tealness) http://www.alfredangelo.com/collections/productdisplay.aspx?productID=feb3f20f-752d-4c0e-9449-4f7804e127ae&categoryID=772f03c9-de43-4942-bfa0-da77e21ebd65&pg=1&colorId1=

Obviously time is an issue and we recognize extra will be paid to rush. Thanks for any help!

Re: Looking for teal bridesmaid dresses

  • My girls got a Pretty Maids dress in teal. The color is lovely. It's a completely different style than what you're describing, but I'm sure they have something like that.

  • I think this is adorable and light for summer.  There are a couple shades that look teal-ish.  http://www.dessy.com/dresses/bridesmaid/6609/?color=jade&colorid=637#.UPywmCfoQfh
  • Bari Jay has a pretty teal/dark aqua color, Peacock. My bridesmaids wore dresses in that color and it was really pretty.

This is an example of the color in one of their chiffon dresses:

  • you can always try stores like Macy's, JC Penny, etc.  Can be hard to guarantee they'd have everyone's size, but a wedding I was in 5 years ago we found a great dress on sale at Macy's and we were all able to buy off teh rack that day (there were 6 of us).

  • I really like the Alfred Angelo dress you guys have as a frontrunner in tealness!  The tealness color is even nicer in person, the website makes all the colors look a little strange I think.  I say just go with that one, I bet Alfred Angelo will be able to pull everything together fast enough.

Otherwise, you guys are lucky that teal happens to be in style right now, I have been seeing it everywhere.  So you might even be lucky enough to go into a department store and find what you want, just like a PP mentioned.  And I feel like department store dresses tend to need less alterations than bridal store dresses, so that might help speed things up as well!
  • Hi everyone - Thank you so much for your help! I had clicked for the knot to email me if someone replied but never got any alerts so I forgot to look back.

We looked at Alfred Sung... the one fabric no one was enamored... the other fabric wasn't the right teal.

She ordered a swatch from Outer Inner... has anyone used them before? They have mostly positive reviews, are half the cost of the Alfred Angelo dress, and for extra $16 they will make it custom to your sizes and the turn around is like 3 weeks. I think they come from China lol but eh worth a try maybe?
