Maggie Sottero ladies I need your help

Hello Ladies,
Tomorrow I will head out to the bridal shops to find my perfect dress. However my budget is only $800.00 and I am really interested in a Maggie Sottero, but will definitely be looking at other designers. I would like to know before if Maggie’s dresses are within my budget.

Thanks in advance,

Re: Maggie Sottero ladies I need your help

  • google shopping is your friend.

it says that her dresses are in the $500-1200 range, so yea they're in your budget. might be a little more at a salon though.
  • I think mine was about that, maybe around $900. This was for an older model (Brittanya Lynette).

A lot of it probably depends on what season the dress is from, and what fabric it's made from and how intricate the details are. I was interested in an all-lace style that was around $1300 or so. Simpler MS dresses will likely be cheaper.

MS sets a bottom price that salons and wholesalers cannot undercut. So your best bet is probably to go to the salons, tell the saleswomen your budget and insist on not trying on dresses above that price, and then see what you like. Contact wholesalers like pearlsplace.com, netbride.com, chrissyobridal.com and rkbridal.com to see what kind of price they can offer you.

Are you open to buying a used dress? If there's a floor model that fits you, ask if you can purchase that for a discount. Also check eBay, Craigslist, the Trash to Treasure board, and websites like oncewed.com, preownedweddingdresses.com and savethedress.com to see if anyone is selling the one you want.

Dress prices don't usually just go down just because a dress is older. My dress was introduced a few years before, and the price was actually going UP the day after I bought it.

OP - Some Maggies will be in your price range, some won't be. Make sure the consultants know your budget so that they don't pull dresses that are above it for you.

  • I purchased a Maggie Sottero (PIB) in Austin and mine was around $650 without any alterations or anything and I think it's beautiful and amazing for the price.  It's definitely doable!
  • My Maggie dress is "Milana" and I paid about $750. I was actually kind of shocked when I saw the price tag because I thought it would be a lot more. I think Maggie dresses range from around $700 to $1500, so you very well could find your dream dress for under $800! Happy shopping!

All your comments was well taken that's the advice I needed.  By the way....Heather and Christie both of your dresses is beautiful.   Again thank you ladies and I look forward tomorrow!  Smile

  • I bought Melissa for $1000 with alterations and bustle included (at the salon, and I've gotten good recs for them). At another salon w/out alterations it was $850, I believe.

Are you interested in a particular Maggie? Hunter, Allison Marie, Madison, etc (the "simpler" gowns with minimal/ no lace, beads, etc) are all in your budget.

  • I understand your concerns, I didn't want to spend a lot on my dress, but ended up falling IN LOVE with Maggie's Grace dress.  It was exactly what I was looking for.  After I saw the price tag ($900) at my salon I knew that I could find it cheaper and I did.  It is used but it was cared for wonderfully.

In the search I realized that Maggies are very easy to find if you are willing to search, they are not all used.  So my advice is to be flexible if you do find that dream Maggie dress, good luck!
