where to get my white gold ring dipped

my fiance' bought my ring in the uk, s sadly the jewelers is not local, as i live in phoenix arizona, i am just not sure where i can go to get it dipped. it's already turning yellow :( it seems most jewelers require that the jewelry be bought there in order for them to services it...

Re: where to get my white gold ring dipped

  • Don't go to the mall- any of the chain stores will require it be purchased there. If you buy your wedding band from a chain store, though, they'll probably work on your e-ring at the same time.

Try a small jewelry store, something locally-owned and not a franchise. They'll be much more willing to help.

(and thanks for the reminder, it's time for mine to go in too lol)

  • Go to JBR in your local mall if they hav a branch there. That or any Kay jeweler does it as well.. It costs appx 40 each time I have had mine done at the JBR by me. It takes about a week but they quote two. I have had my rings about a year now and I have had them "dipped" every six months or so. The chemicals you use during the day is what is wearing away the white gold, could be your shampoo or handsanitizer... it just happens. Hope you find a place to do it and congrats!!

  • I haven't done it yet, but I went into Kay Jewelers to ask them how much it would be since I have the same issue (the jeweler is in Florida and we are in Kansas now), and they quoted me $35 (I think). I told them that I bought from a privately owned jewelers and they said that it didn't matter.

  • Yep pretty much any jewelry store should do it for around $35-50 if they have a jeweler on site than it might only take a few hours. It's also not a bad idea to get them to do a proper inspection it at the same time just for piece of mind ( and sometimes insurance)

  • I would check your small, local jewelers.  The one I had my rings appraised at will do it for $25 per ring.
