Wedding Dress shopping

Re: Wedding Dress shopping

  • The first time I went I took my mom, friend, and grandma. I ended up picking a dress my gma would love but I didn't. Each time I went after I only took my mom and it was the right decision. Too many opinions makes it harder than it needs to be and not as much fun. It worked out great
  • The first trip I did what every bride is told not to do - I took my fiance along with my mom. The second trip I took my mom, dad, grandma, and again my fiance! However, we looked at so many dresses that he's forgotten which one I bought. =]

  • I took a friend the day i found my dress but when I went back to buy it my fiance was with me...
  • I took my mom and MOH. You don't want to many opinions or you will find yourself tryiing to please everyone else and not yourself.

  • My mother has no interest in going with me, which I admit I really wish she was different. Anyway, I went shopping by myself (kinda depressing) and the second time I asked my FMIL, FSIL, friend and Fniece. We had a great time! and I felt very supported. Unfortunately I didn't find the dress until I went shopping again by myself. I'm going to get their second opinion before I put down my deposit.

I also think having a helpful, enthusiastic salesperson with a good eye for your style helps. I brought a couple of pics and the saleslady was amazing. Especially nice to me since I was alone. It's like the whole store was my "wedding party":)

    Good Luck!!

I just took my mom. It was a very nice, calm experience. And most importantly, we found THE dress.
