real corset

I am a larger woman, and need to find a corset.  I have the davids bridal traditional strapless bra/corset, but the problem with those is that I have more curves in my body than that allows for!  The flexible plastic boning just curls into my rolls (yes I am rather large...) rather than flattening me out, and makes me very uncomfortable.  I am wondering if anyone knows where I can get a size 24 corset that is made with either real bone for boning, or atlast not with the flexible crap in these way to expensive cheap bras?  I LOVE the shape that corset backs were giving me in the gowns I tried on, however, I chose a dress without the back.  I want something lace up back that actually gives me good posture and the hourglass...just for one day.  I can't seem to find a real corset anywhere.  Oh, and the other hard part is that I am a large woman but small breasted...aweful combo for clothes!  Even if the boning is not there...I just want a lace up back sturdy quality corset.  Thanks!

  • Sweet! Thanks Ladies!

Never heard of it before...dispite hours and hours of online searching.  I will look when I get home!  I am at work now and the child friendly filter says the content is adult...which I guess is better than when I was looking earlier and actually found one that the filter came up saying porn on...good thing my boss does not see what the filter says!
  • Okay, I guess they go in bra sizes...so I guess this does not matter considering I already told you I have rolls....Size 46-48 cup b or c...want steel boned if possible and has to be white.  that site didn't work.  Thank you though!  It does have one, but it says moderate boning and not what the boning is made of...I just need one that will keep it's shape and not stretch around me.  Thanks!
  • It's Ren Faire season.  If you want a real corset, that's often the best place to look.

This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • Just have to ask... are you 100% sure you want a REAL, steel-boned corset?  I have one for my Victorian costume, and it is UNCOMFORTABLE.  It's okay for the first half hour or so, and by the end of that all I can think of is how much I want to get it off.  I'd try wearing it around the house for a few hours if you do get one.  You don't want to be horribly uncomfortable on your wedding day, and I'm sure you groom loves you no matter what!

  • thanks...I don't know, I just know I don't want the crappy flexible boning in the stretchy one I have from davids...who ever thought it would be a good idea to stick a big woman in flexible fabric and say it is holding her in and smoothing her out.  it make me jiggle less, but it does not smooth my silloette much!  I actualy posted what I wanted on ETSY and already have a bidder.  I am writing to her right now to ask her about what she can do.
