It's been a while since I've looked at this thread last! Thanks for all your suggestions for how to style my gown so far. I finally snapped a photo of me in the dress. I still have to have it tailored to fit me (mostly in the upper body area) but I hope this makes things clearer!
http://i39.tinypic.com/33bhjkh.jpgI am mostly concerned with what shoes to wear (since they will actually show the whole time!) and what to do with my hair accessories. I can't wear pointy stiletto heels because my ceremony will be outdoors on a lawn, and I wanted to wear my hair long with large curls.
Still welcoming suggestions! You've all been so helpful so far, I hope the picture inspires you
Hello all,
I wanted to get some of your opinions on how to style my gown! =D Normally I am very much pro-tradition, but my gown is not white, but a peachy-nude color. I chose it because of sentimental value and beauty (it was my grandmother's, and nicer than anything I could afford for myself). How can I take an unusual dress and still make myself stand out as a bride?
I really wanted classic princess-y look: cathedral veil, tiara, pretty heels... but do I get those things in a shade similar to the dress or in ivory/white?
For reference, my dress is similar in color to this one:
and the style of it looks like:
a little like Kate Middleton's except more A-line in shape and without a train, and with a beaded bodice.
Sorry I haven't taken any good pictures of it yet!
Hopefully that's enough info to inspire some suggestions!
Also, among my bridesmaids, we're having a division of people who'd prefer black-with-white-accent dresses versus black-with-peach-accent dresses. (Our colors being peach, white, & black). I want them to stand out too, hence the black, but also contrast with my dress.
Thanks everyone!
