Fathers Tuxes

Do the father of the bride and groom wear the same tux as the groomsman? The lady at the tux rental place said usually no, but I thought different. Please help!

Re: Fathers Tuxes

  • You can do whatever you want. I have seen it both ways. We had both of our father's in all black tuxes so they could be distinguished from the other GM.
  • My FOB will be wearing his own tux (he owns several) and probably black accessories so he can match the MOB's outfit.

My FOG is also a GM.  If he was not, he would probably still want to rent a tux just like the GM but have accessories that match the MOG's outfit.

July 16, Our Wedding Day, is also International Juggling Day!

  • Yeah I've seen it both ways too.  My groomsmen wore black tuxes with black shirts and wine colored vests and ties.  We wanted our dads to be distinct from the wedding party though.  They wore basic black tuxes, with white shirts.  Looked nice.

  • Thats a great idea to use the boutonnieres to set them apart. Thanks everyone!
