Re: Dress opinions?

i agree, you should keep looking. judging by your posture, it seems like you are not fully confident/happy with these choices.you will know where you try the ONE on :)

I actually really like the first dress, and I love the jacket that goes with it, but I think the second one makes your waist look teeny tiny. I agree that if you do the second one I would recommend a different jacket, actually something similar to what Kate Middleton wore with her second dress might be really cute, but I like that look.

Agreed: the second one would be very nice with a different (i.e. white sheer/lacy) jacket.

I'll also throw in that I don't believe in "the one" when it comes to dresses, I think you can look and look and look and eventually you just have to pick. I mean, if you're really unhappy with them ,then keep going, but there are only so many ways bridal gowns can be different, especially within a style you like. But, I know I won't be a girl who cries when she finds it, so, take that for what it's worth.

Yes, I have to keep my arms covered for our church.

And I'm getting worried because I've tried almost all the bridal stores in my area. I think the second dress would be perfect with a different jacket but I don't know how to find one that'll perfectly match. Any suggestions?

[QUOTE]If you need to have your arms covered, have you checked into the places that sell dresses or LDS and ConservativeJewish brides? They have beautiful designs! http://www.latterdaybride.com/modest-wedding-dresses.php http://www.venusbridal.com/bridals/temple-bridal

I don't know if you've already checked it, but the Alfred Angelo Signature store (I'm in San Antonio, so if we have one, I think DFW might) had some really really pretty wraps and little jackets, and a pretty large variety. I think you have to get away from perfectly matching, because it probably won't be the exact same, and get something that "goes."

I just tried to look online, and there's no selection there, but in the store I went to it was quite nice.

The neck line is wonderful on the second dress, but the feathers or ruffles have to go. Keep looking....and go with what you feel, not what others want for you. wink!

[QUOTE]I've tried on so many dresses and these are the only two I like. Any opinions? Here is the other dress I really like. I posted it here a few days ago and most people liked the dress, but not the jacket. I'm willing to shop around for a better jacket but I found out that they can't order extra fabric so I can't get a matching one made, so I dunno what kind of jacket I'll find: I've just tried on so many dresses and haven't found the dress yet and it's frustrating.

Congratulations!!!! This is such a beautiful moment that you have as the wedding dress journey begins! Did you research all options on theknot? Alvina Valenta, Simone Cavelli, Demetrious are just a few to begin your true search. I always believe that a bride does not begin her true search for her dream wedding gown until one finds themselve's back at square 1-that would be you! :) theknot is an invaluable resource so avidly search Domo Adami.com, White Sposa, Lazaro and get an idea of your style. The mentioned designers are wonderful so incorporate them into a 'dream wedding dress' and go from there.
Don't forget-ALWAYS shop 1 year ahead of time for your dress because you don't want to be dated in your pictures! Remember, 2013 & 2014 have already been previewed, so think 1 year ahead in style 'time!'
Have fun!!!!!! Try 'Brides by Demetrious' at Legacy Village in Beachwood , Ohio!!!!! Congratulations once again beautiful bride!!

I prefer the second, but I agree with the previous posters that the feathered look isn't great. The first dress isn't my taste at all. GL on your search!

I agree with seeking out an Alfred Angelo signature store. They have many many dresses in a reasonable price range and boleros to match their dresses.

The more I come back and look at the posts here, the more I really like you in the second dress. I really do. I hate that jacket, I just don't think it "matches" or "goes" but the dress looks great on you. If you've gone to almost all the bridal stores in the DFW area and tried on the dresses in your price range that also suit your taste, I think it's time to go with something. That whole "start again from the beginning" nonsense just makes me think that there are vendors who hope that if you're convinced you can't find anything that you'll up your price range. Same with the "look at newer styles so you won't look out of date." That is a ridiculous reason to start over with everything.

Yes, it's an important dress, and there will be lots of pictures of it, and it should match the style of your wedding, and conform to any religious needs and be within budget, but if you've really seen all of those, and these are your top 2, then I'm voting for number 2. You look fantastic in it. Are the ruffles my thing? Maybe not, but they look great on you. I really think that once you decide on a dress, then you can start really looking for a cover for your shoulders, or even have one made. You've got plenty of time to do that.

i agree that number two is the better of the two. Not the jacket, but the dress. You look so beautiful in it. Plus, I don't think the neck like is quite as low or attention grabbing as dress one

I do like the second dress but not with the jacket!! But I do like number 2

Have you tried consignment stores in your area for a dress? Or maybe for just a jacket.
