black and orange?

So my bridesmaids wll be wearing orange since we're having an october wedding...would it look completely aweful and halloweenish to still have my fiance' and the groomsmen wear black. I was thinking They could always wear grey, brown, or tan?

Re: black and orange?

  • I do not think it would be awful for the guys to wear black.  I do like the idea of grey however and that would like very nice with orange as well.

Just so you know, just because you are getting married in October does not mean you have to stick with the typical fall color scheme...you can use whatever color scheme appeals to you.

  • Black and orange would look great!  It would be kind of Halloweenish, but more because of the orange, not so much the black.  If you wanted to get away from that, you could add some yellow in, and have the guys wear grey.  I'm not so sure about brown and orange together though.

I already got the dresses. I didn't do orange just because it was October I really like it and I guess it being October makes it a perk. My maid of honor is wearing gold...so maybe it won't be too bad after all I could add the gold into it like you said with the yellow. Thanks girls!

  • I'm getting married in June and my bridesmaid dresses are tangerine and the guys are wearing black tuxes. I liked it because it really made the orange pop. I say go for it! :)
  • When you select the tuxedos you should be able to look at different colors with the orange and see what you like.  My personal vote is for gray if you don't want to look overtly Halloween-ish.
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
  • I'd have the men wear grey instead of black.
  • I like the idea of the grey with the orange instead of black. It's a twist on the grey and yellow color schemes you see all over the place.
