valuveil help

Hi All,
I know many have been happy with their valuveil veils. I wanted to get some opinions:
I am planning to get a 1 tiered, 90 inch (chapel), ivory veil.

Was the material nice / soft; does it flow well?
Is the ivory soft or dark (my dress is a light ivory)?
I am trying to decide between cut and pencil edge; I want the veil to be soft and airy but I worry that the cut edge looks cheap any advice?
My dress is chapel length but when I tried on veils at the store; the veil was approximately 6-inches shorter than the dress train. Is that normal or should I look at going for the 108 inch cathedral and let the veil be longer? (I wish they made a 100 inch length).

Any advise or help from those who have already ordered their veils would be great.

Re: valuveil help

  • I just got my veil from valuveil yesterday.  It is a waist length, white veil with pencil trim, so I can't help you with the ivory color.  However, I will say that my veil is very soft and flowy and the trim doesn't look cheap at all.

Many ladies on here have ordered veils from there, so hopefully someone who has ordered similar to what you are wanting to order will be able to help you out a little bit more.  Good luck to you! :)

  • The ivory color is not the "dark" ivory you find in fabric stores.  It will go just fine with an ivory or light ivory dress.

I got a 1-tier cathedral length with scattered pearls and crisp cut edge.  I have a chapel length dress.  When we did the fitting, the veil comes past the edge of the dress by a few inches (maybe 10?), and when I walk it will be even longer.  Remember, your veil length is more "in motion" than standing still, so a chapel length veil should be fine for a chapel length dress.  We are adding lace to edge and bottom of my veil, so we wanted the extra length for the lace to stand out.

Oh -- and with a good steaming on the day-of, the veil will flow very nicely.  The fabric isn't stiff at all.  :-)

  • Thanks ladies. I think you have convinced me to buy it. :) I may buy the Cathedral and see if my alterations lady can shorten it a little (I have my consultation with her this Friday). I love the way it looks when the veil it slightly longer but I worry about it being too long.
    Thanks again! :)
