Etsy sellers

Hi,

I ordered something from an Etsy seller 5 days ago, and while my payment has been accepted, I haven't heard a word from them since.

I placed another order from another seller on 02/01, and heard right back from them, with a promise of a rendering to be sent the next morning, then nothing from her either.

Is this normal with Etsy sellers? Both had excellent feedback. My thought is that since i am paying them to do a service, they should at least communicate with me - I shouldn't have to chase them down.

Thoughts?

Hi Allison, 

I purchase quite a bit with Etsy and usually get a response right away. Have you tried to email him/her? I would probably give it a week - week and a half in the event that they're perhaps away. Then try again explaining your concern. Hopefully, this issue is resolve sooner rather than later! )

If you look under your purchases, is the item marked as shipped?  Sometimes they'll do that but not send a separate email advising that it shipped.  But it is always nice to get a message back just confirming that the order was received, etc...

I say after a week contact them.  I always get responses back with in 1-2 days.

Hi there!

I'm an Etsy seller and I think communication competely varies from buyer to buyer.

If someone purchases something from my shop, (that doesn't require any communication, meaning no questions were asked), I might not have any contact with that specific buyer.  I always try my best to send the buyer a notice when their order is being shipped (usually withint 48 hours).  Of course, if they leave me a note or question during the checkout process, or send me a conversation, I respond usually within the hour. 

I hope this helps some with your experience.

Also,

I would make sure to check that seller's home page.  Sometimes seller's update their homepage with an annoucement that they will be out of office or out of town.
