White Or Colors?

   I really want to have a colorful wedding dress and have my bridesmaids wear white.. Is this a bad idea? I like to stand out and do things outside the box.
       I'm just looking to get some ideas, I haven't run this past the goom yet but he knows I dance to the beat of my own drummer.

   Advice is welcome!

I think that sounds really nice! I like teetooshort's suggestion too, but I like the idea of you in a color and your girls in white. What color were you thinking?

Do what you want . . it's your wedding. Just make sure that you think about this decision so you won't regret it in ten years.

I give it a thumbs up. I DO think you should throw it out there to FI just to get his take. Surprisingly (to me) my FI has been VERY opinionated about things. And he said he would prefer an all white dress.

I have seen this once on Four Weddings. To me, it seemed odd. The guests all seemed surprised, and I'm not sure if people appreciated it.

IMO, it would be better if the bridesmaids were NOT in white, even if you are in a different color. I think that is what threw people off most. Maybe consider putting your ladies in another color, probably best if it is a neutral that matches your color scheme.

Also, I agree with PP....check with your FI. While men may say they don't care about most wedding things, when you actually ask something specific, they generally have an opinion. Maybe ask him what he sees you in, then ask what he would think if you wore a different color.

Question: Do you want to wear a color for cultural reasons?

Thanks Ladies..
I really like the idea of a graduated color dress.. starting out solid on the bottom and fading into white at the top. I'm pulled toward turquoise or bright pink for this idea.
Keeping in mind that this will be a beach wedding, extremely casual the grooms men will be wearing white or kaki pants and hawaiian shirts.
