Grooms Men HELP!

My fiance is a fire fighter and will be wearing his Class A uniform on our big day. The uniform is all navy with a white shirt and black tie, one of his groomsmen is a fighter as well, the problems lie with the other grooms men one is in the army one is a state trooper and the other 3 are just normal joes. How do I keep all the men looking cohesive, my fiance is set on wearing his Class A (and I want him to wear it of course) and he wants his friends to wear their Class A's as well, but what about the 3 who dont have Class A's? What do they wear.....navy suits?

Fire Class A's are all navy
Army Class A's are black on top and navy pants
New Jersey State Troopers are like a faded royal blue on top (cop blue) and black on the bottom

These guys are all my friends aswell and i know how proud they are of their uniforms and I want them to wear the uniforms they work so hard for but how do i keep the groomsmen looking cohesive and not like a hodgepodge of uniforms and suits?

Re: Grooms Men HELP!

  • I would let the men with special uniforms wear those uniforms, and let the other GM wear a suit they already own.  Get matching bouts.  Don't worry about cohesiveness.
  • Black or Navy suits should be fine
  • The cohesiveness will come with wearing matching bouteneirs- don't worry at all they will look like a very handsome group of men. You have other things to worry about! You will be so proud of how they look on your wedding day and you won't be thinking about how well they match each other. Matchy-matchy groomsmen just isn't what you are looking for at a wedding as special as this one.

As other's said navy or black suits would look great.  If the other guys have suits I'd pick based off of that.

Some mentioned boutonnieres, remember that they aren't worn with uniforms, so I'd get pocket squares for the men in suits.
  • I agree with others.  If they are in a service of any kind, and have a uniform for that, I think it should be worn.  Don't worry that the others don't have a uniform, too.  They can wear a suit they already own, or ask them to all get the same color.
  • Navy suits.  I think black suits are too funereal.
