My FI wants a titanium ring. I'd like to get him what he wants, but....
I've heard that the metal is so strong that if he were to have an accident as simple as breaking his ring finger (and it swells up) that they might have to amputate and reattach the finger because they can't saw through titanium rings.
I don't know if this is just an old-wives tale (a modern one?) but I am concerned about getting a ring that could end up being such a liability. Does anyone know about the safety of titanium rings?
