Bridal Heels. How many inches?

I am in love with a pair of heels that are 3 and 3/4 inches.  Here they are: http://perfectdetails.com/Eliora-Champagne.htm
They go with my dress perfectly.  Do you think this is too tall?  Would it be too hard to dance all night?  I own heels (but not that tall) and tall wedges, which are all comfortable, but I don't own anything quite like this to compare it too.  What do you think?

Re: Bridal Heels. How many inches?

  • I am not so sure I could get away with wearing them all night -- the ankle strap might do me in.

But ... it will likely have to be trial and error.  Do you have enough time between now and your wedding day to break them in by wearing them for an hour or so at the end of each day (when your feet are more swollen), for about a week?  If so, that might help you determine if they will really work.

    Best of luck!!

  • I think this depends completely upon how comfortable you are in heels. Mine were about 3 inches, but I wear 2-4 inch heels literally every day, so I'm very used to it.

If I were you, I would maybe buy a pair of heels with of a similar style/height before you order these and wear them around for a few weeks to see how you deal with the height. Then, if you're comfortable with them, go for it! They are beautiful shoes, and the ankle strap will give you a bit more stability.

  • I'd be worried about the narrow heel.  I ended up in 4" heels to avoid hemming my dress (it was a scallop hem, would have cost a FORTUNE), but I spent a long time looking for something with a wide, stable heel.  I ended up with these: http://www.summerrio.com/product.php?pid=1272

I only wore mine for a couple of hours, and I didn't really do any dancing, but I was definitely starting to get a little footsore by the end of the night.  If you're going with higher heels than you're used to, definitely practice in them frequently before the ewdding.

  • I really think this is a personal decision that only you can make...based on how comfortable you are in heels, sometimes even the height of your fiance(in case you are close in height and dont want to be taller than him)...but to answer your question...
No I dont think 3 3/4 in. is too high. But I LOVE heels, and are very comfortable wearing them. My heels are 4in w/ a 3/4in platform(picture in bio).  You also have the option of changing shoes if they do get uncomfortable. Personally I wouldn't but that too is up to you! GL!
  • I don't think they're too tall at all, The ankle strap would make them easier to wear too. Worse case scenario you could just dance barefoot! You could start wearing taller heels now and that would help you get accustomed to the height.
  • Those are gorgeous shoes.  If I were you I would wear them as long as you can and bring flip flops or comfier shoes to change into.
  • I purchased shoes that tall and decided after wearing them it was going to be too much for an all day event. I am going to have to go with a hosrter heel- no more than 2 inches.

  • I agree.  Get them!  Just bring spares.
I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine.
  • I don't wear heels all that often, but knew I was getting them for the wedding.  Mine were 3 1/2 inch heels, and were really comfortable until we hiked about 2 miles up and down hills for our pictures (definitely wasn't thinking ahead on that part).  I never planned on being able to wear them all night though,  so i ordered a pair of high heeled white Nomad flip flops that were the same height, so it was perfect with my hem.  Definitely one of the best decisions I made.

  • I'm 5'2" and my fiance is 6'5".

I'm going to suffer in 5" heels if I can find a pair I like. A platform helps and you can find gel inserts/Foot Petals at a local grocery store. If you're doing "shoe pics" before the wedding, let the photog take his shots before you insert all the extra padding. No one will be able to tell you added a bunch of other foot support to the shoes once you're wearing them.
