I Thought I Had Found THE Dress.....

So I went to Alfred Angelo first and tried on several dresses. Narrowed it down to 2 there. Then went on to 3 other dress shops. Saw only 1 dress from those 2 shops that I liked, but 1 of the dresses from Alfred Angelo stuck in my mind. Went back to AA, tried it on again, and knew that was the one. Then, they tell me that it's being discontinued and that IF they can get in in my size, I could get it for $390 (reg. almost $700) So, there was another plus! Well, they called and they can't get it my size. I am so disappointed. So, here's my question: Does anyone have any other ideas where I can find the dress? I have tried ebay, craigslist, preownedweddingdreses.com. It is Style # 1839.

Question though: are the dresses on bestbridalprices.com acually from the designers or are they replicas? If I'm not mistaken, I think house of brides are knockoffs? Just wondering if it's the same.

What size?

Post on weddingsbees classifieds.

Call any shop that carries the AA line and see if they have a sample in your size that they could sell you. 

Keep watching the used dress sites.  I've also just done a  search for the designer and style number to see what comes up.

If it has been discontinued, I'de expect to see some bridal shops listing the samples for sale, so keep checking.

House of Brides has real dresses from the designers, NOT knockoffs.  They deal mostly online, but have a store in the Chicago area I've been too.

I haven't had experience with bestbridalprices.com.

Store of Dress is a knockoff site.  I'd suggest stearing clear of it.

If you can't find the dress, I'm sure we can help you find a similar style.

I would call the manufacturer directly. I was told that they could not get a Romona Keveza I was interested in, but once I called and talked to Romona Keveza they advised me they would make the dress for me once it was discontinued, as long as the fabric was available. So  opinion is to call Alfred Angelo

I found my Maggie Sottero Natalina by googling the brand and style. Wound up getting it for $300 from a store in California (I'm in Florida); it was their sample they were selling because the style was being discontinued.

Here's another thought.  My dress was discontinued long ago, but I bought it in a sample size that was a tent on me.

It's easier to alter a dress to a smaller size, so try to get that same dress in the sample size and have it altered to fit you.

Contacting AA is a good idea too.
