Periwinkle Bridesmaid dresses...do they exist?!

I would LOVE to have periwinkle and platinum was my colors. I have a long time to plan my wedding, so I'm basically trying to decide if I can find enough things in this color scheme that I can cement it. The one thing (and the most important) that I haven't found are bridesmaid dresses.

Periwinkle, if you can't picture it is also called a "lavender blue."

If anyone has any ideas on this, I'd LOVE to hear them. I've tried David's Bridal (they discontinued it :( ) and Alfred Angelo already.

  • Why not use silver dresses with purple flowers as an accent, or a sash or something? Personally, I would find what you can in the lavender/blue color you want, and then also pull in more rich shades of purple in accents so that the platinum/periwinkle doesn't becoming an overload of pastel.

Have you tried looking up prom dresses or something in that colour? just googling periwinkle dress I can see a bunch of different designs and shades....I don't think it will be too hard to find something in that colour.

I'm going to be dealing with bridesmaids from a bunch of different cities/states, so I was hoping to find a place like DB or AA that they could go to and all order different dresses in the exact same color. Darn DB for discontinuing it!

I've never thought of doing silver, i guess because it's light just like my white dress so I felt like I needed them to be in a color. I'm looking though
  • There are some really pretty silver/pewter colors out there. Especially with using silver, puliing in some different tones could be really pretty, so putting them in a grayish silver with the purple flowers would be really pretty IMO.

also, I found that the dessy group carries periwinkle.

so does eden bridals. I just used bing and searched for periwinkle bridesmaid dresses and found those, so it looks like you have a few more options than you thought.

EDIT: and even though your bridesmaids are spread out, you can still order from a particular salon. When I was in a friends wedding, all the girls who lived out of state just went to their own local seamstresses and then had their measurements sent to the shop where we ordered the dresses. Once they come in, you can ship them the dress so they can get them altered where they live. With a color like periwinkle most places would probably want to order your dresses all at once to make sure they get cut from the same dye lot and match.
  • try the Dessy, their dresses come in lots of colors and most wedding boutiques carry them. Though you want to get your dresses from one place and then have them shipped because dresses are made from the designer and you want the whole group to come from the same fabric and dye lot. That way they aren't even a subtle shade off.  Happy planning!
  • They do !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have an extra dress size 8 ! I thought they were going to be Blue and they are not LOL ! I dont really care because it is a really pretty color and different from other colors ! if your interested let me know !!
  • Try Bill Levkoff's European Sky Blue (it does look more periwinkle than blue and a great shade), but see the swatch in person (as most PC's colors don't generate to show the true color).
  • My bridesmaids are wearing dresses by Jasmine Bridal, specifically their B2 line.  I think they have periwinkle dresses?  If not, I know they have cornflower which may be close to what you're looking for.

Jordan has tons of dresses & many different ones 9deifferent materials to choose from, too) in Periwinkle.

My 5 BMs tried Jordan dresses on at shops in their areas, then we ordered from Pearl's Place in Louisiana. The 5 different dresses  (one year ago) ranged from $98- $125; pretty reasonable!

I went to a local bridal shop today and looked at swatches of the Dessy and Eden fabrics. Both had gorgeous periwinkles (even called that!) but a little bluer than I was wanting. I definitely want a purple tint to it (which is why cornflower doesnt work, although there are a few of those that are wonderful)

    I still have hope!

Today, I went again and found a Sophia Tolli dress color called "Cornflower" that's very dark. I want it pretty dark, since I'll be having a winter wedding...I don't want it to look summery. Only problem is...closest shop that carries the Sophia Tolli line is about an hour away :(
