Re: WHERE TO GET DRESS

  • What budget would you like to stay within? I'm asking because I'm actually from MA and could recommend stores there, but you might actually get better advice on one of your local boards (see links in the top left corner) rather than here.
  • OK I too am a RI bride!   What fun!   I would recommend that you do not bring an entourage with you.  Too many cooks spoil the soup.   I would look around at dress shops that offer designer dresses at discounted prices.   After my first dress fitting my mom and I went into Vows in Watertown , MA.   I was so to'ed that I bought my dress already because I saw some gorgeous dresses there.   And I am talking Monique Lhullier, Kenneth Pool, Amsale, etc top names for 70-90% off retail prices.    I had questioned the girl there (turned out to be the owner) where they got the dresses and she had said at sample sales, donations from boutiques in NYC Boston etc if they are last year's style.  I don't know about you but I cannot tell the difference between last year and this year in the Birdal fashion.    So alas I still love my dress that I actually bought at a charity event called Bridesagainstbreastcancer.com
it was F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S.   well run neat clean and I bought a 10,000 Kenneth Pool for 1500!   all tax deductible!   after spending alot on the wedding any little bit helps.  Plus all of the proceeds go to buy dresses for women with breast cancer their dream dress.   We all deserve to have our dream gown  don't you think?   Good luck planning!
    He popped the question!
