Colored Wedding Dress?

Lately I'm super into the idea of a colored wedding dress... like a pale pink, maybe? The best inspiration for this is Portia De Rossi's (http://www.jewelry.com/2008-08-cn-a-wedding-to-match-the-ring.shtml), which is flabbergastingly gorgeous. I wore white, but think that pale shades of other colors are really elegant. For the most part, I really don't care for details in other colors.

There are a couple of gals on the etiquette board who wore colored dresses if you want to look for more inspiration. Shellydiane wore a light blue dress and RachAndRich wore sort of a caffe latte color. OhWhyNot is wearing sort of a light green tea-length dress that I love.

I agree with this.  I much prefer a pale colored dress than a white dress with brightly colored accents.  Portia's dress was lovely!

I wore ivory, but i would have loved a pale pink or blue dress....just didn't turn out that way.  Go with what you want and feel good in.

I'm going with off white but only because it's the prettiest dress of all the ones I tried on. I really wanted red but I just couldn't find the right design for me. If the dress I'm wearing came in red that'd be it! If you like other colours go for it!

Offbeat Bride has some great examples of colored wedding gowns.  I ended up in ivory, but the first gown I considered was gold.

I'm wearing white, but if you like a colored dress than you should do it. I think colored dresses look awesome.

I'm wearing Ivory and also considered a light gold dress.  I like the softer colors on the skin.  I also think a pale color would be pretty but I other than a sash I hate details in other colors like red or blue or any color panels in the dress - blech!  Just my opinion but I dont' think that's classy at all.

I definitely wanted an ivory dress, but I want to accent/accessorize with lots of colour!  I even want to dye my crinoline.

My dress will either be a light gold or a pale pink....still figuring out which color since it's going to be custom made
