Bridesmaids' shoes..

Hi everybody!

So I am probably the least opinionated person on the planet and I am having the WORST time trying to decide what I should do for the bridesmaids shoes.  I keep hearing opposite opinions from my mom and my sister (MOH) and I seriously could care less what they wear on their feet haha.

So I pose this question to you all...the girls are wearing purple dresses (somewhat darker but pretty true purple...aka NOT black purple) and pearl earrings and necklaces.  What color/type shoes do YOU think they should wear????  I was thinking strappy silver since it's a summer wedding but there are SO many different shades of silver...or there is always black.  I think purple would be too difficult to find.  Or should i just do like silver flats?

The other question is should I pick the actual shoes to have them wear or just tell the type/color and let them have at it.  I hate forcing them to buy and wear something that they possibly hate =(

I think silver would look great with the purple dresses.

You don't have to pick out the exact shoe, I explained in an earlier thread that I found shoes at payless for my girls and they all ended up buying them because they were such a great price. You can just tell them "Get silver strappy heels" or "Get silver flats" but if they all want the same shoe then great!

My girls also got their shoes at Payless! I kinda let them "duke it out" haha! Two of my girls wanted really high heels, one wanted flats and the last wanted very low heels. They all finally agreed on a med sized heel!

Yeah, I think silver would look great.  I would just ask them to wear any silver sandal they like! 

And NO, you should not pick out shoes for your BM. Everyone has differing opinions on comfort, style, heel height etc. I would be pretty miffed if someone told me what EXACT shoes to buy. They're the ones that have to wear them, so they have the right to pick out something that is both flattering and comfortable for them!

thank you thank you thank you for the responses so far that's what I had been thinking all along! I'm so picky about shoes on my own feet that I would think other girls would be the same...thanks for the confidence!

Anytime I ever had to buy specific shoes as a BM, I never wore them again.
