Seamstress that does wedding dresses

I know that i can't afford my dream dress, so im thinking of having a seamstress make one that looks similar. has anyone taken this route? do you have any suggestions for a good seamstress?

    Just as a head's up, most ladies find that it isn't cheaper to have a dress made, and it is hard to find someone skilled at it. Plus, you run the risk of not getting what you want if you aren't communicating well. But definitely check out your local board for advice.
