Are My Shoes Too Plain?

Could really use some opinoin here.  My gown is allover lace with a slim aline silhouette.  The one think I won't compromise on are shoes, I just can't see being uncomfortable as our wedding is outside at my Fiance's Uncles House where there is a Huge Garden.  These are my shoes http://www.colehaan.com/colehaan/catalog/product.jsp?catId=100&productId=238984&productGroup=

I am just worried that their too plain.  Thank you for your help

Re: Are My Shoes Too Plain?

  • they certainly aren't the plainest shoes I've seen!
When I was looking for shoes, I liked the advice my sister gave me:  a dress with a lot of details, or details near the bottom, get more simple shoes.  A dress that is very simple can handle fancier shoes.

Then again, the way I figure it, assuming your dress is floor length, the shoes won't be overly visible.  Of course they'll be seen every now and again, but the dress will cover most of them most of the time.

good luck!  I ordered my shoes online and they should get here this week. :)
  • Who cares if they're plain or elaborate? You are the only person whose opinion matters, and you are probably the only person who will even see them.

If you like them, get them.

  • I think they are cute!  If you like them, and think they are comfortable, go for it!
  • I like them!
I realized in my original reply I forgot to tell you that!!!  I think they're cute, they'll stay on, and I would believe they are comfortable enough to wear. (I, too, am for comfy shoes!!  I'm wearing just 1 1/2" heels, and that's only b/c I couldn't find cute ones at 1 - 11/4" heels).  I like them!
  • I love them! Cole Haan are supposed to be really comfortable too. I'm also wearing a lace dress and plain shoes. I've heard that with lace dresses you have to be careful with shoes so that the shoes don't pick your dress.

  • Thank you so much ladies.  My dress is kind of got a vintage feel since it is allover lace, but has some ruching in the right places.  I was just worried that these were too contemporary.  Thanks for the confidence booster!
  • By themselves, yeah they're simple but l like PP said, if your dress is fancy then less fancy shoes are better. I think comfort is the number one thing as you don't want to be miserable on your day.  I always regret wearing cute shoes as soon as I start feeling a blister coming. You could always add a little bling to them if you want. I think they're both cute and look way more comfy than a 5 inch heal option.
